Your official transcript is a record of your classes, grades, GPA and degree—providing proof to future employers of everything you have worked hard to achieve at RISD.

Request your transcript

You may request your official transcript online through Parchment, our service provider for credentials and academic records. 

Electronic transcripts are typically delivered within 24–48 hours. Printed transcripts are mailed first-class through the United States Postal Service (USPS) and typically take five to seven days to arrive. However, you can order expedited delivery for an additional fee. Delivery time may be longer for international addresses. 

How to make your request

  1. Please choose the Parchment link below that matches your student status to order your transcript.
  2. You may need to create a Parchment account or confirm your personal information before you can place your order.
  3. Place an order by selecting an item. Apostilles are only for transcripts sent internationally.
  4. Once you select an item you have two choices:
    1. If you’re sending your transcript to a college or university, enter its name in the search box and select the school. Parchment will automatically select if the school wants the transcript electronically (common) or by mail (uncommon). Answer the questions and click continue.
      Or
    2. If the school doesn’t appear or you want to send the transcript to yourself, an employer or another individual directly, click "I’m sending to myself or another individual". A new screen will appear where you can select whether to have the transcript sent electronically or by mail. Fill in the recipient’s information and click continue.
  5. Enter payment information. You will receive email updates with your order status.

Apostilles

Apostilles are certificates of authentication, and are sometimes required for using your transcript outside of the US. 

You can request an apostille through Parchment when you order your transcript. We can notarize your transcript and obtain an apostille for you from the secretary of state of Rhode Island.

If you need an apostille on another document such as your diploma, you can submit the form below to our office and we will process the request within 10 days.
